The Physical Testing module allows users to record results for most Physical Testing scenarios. This can include performances such as the beep test, sit and reach, 1RM or your own custom test types.

Test Types

The testing library currently includes the following tests:

  • 10m/20m/50m/100m Sprint

  • Broad Jump

  • Drop Jump

  • Vertical Jump

  • Countermovement Jump

  • Single Hop

  • Triple Hop

  • Crossover Hop

  • 6-meter Timed Hop

  • Standing/Seated Height

  • Fasted/Unfasted Weight

  • Knee-to-wall

  • Sit-and-reach

  • Wingate Anaerobic Test

  • Yo-Yo Intermittent Recovery Test Level 1 and 2

  • Y-Balance Test

  • Star Excursion Balance Test

  • VO² Max

  • Functional Movement Screen

If there are any additional test types you would like to use, that are not possible using the custom test type functionality (specified below), please get in touch with us. We intend to expand this library based on popular requests.

Creating a Custom Test Type

If there is a test type or format that is missing, you are able to create single-parameter tests via the Test Library.

To create a new test type:

  1. Click on "App" menu item in the sidebar

  2. Click "Physical Testing" in the drop down

  3. Select the "Test Library" in the horizontal menu

  4. Click "New" to create a new test type, or "Update" to modify an existing one

This will pop out a new window to create the test:

  1. Give the test a name e.g. Beep Test

  2. Select the Measurement Type. This will define the type data you can collect. Current test types include:

    1. Speed/Velocity

    2. Distance/Length

    3. Mass/Weight

    4. Time

    5. Power

    6. Force

    7. Heart Rate

    8. 1RM

    9. Reps

    10. Percentage

    11. Number/Score

  3. Give the measurement a description. For example, "Level Reached" would make sense for a Beep Test.

  4. Select the units you wish to record the test in.

  5. Select whether higher or lower value is a better result. For example, a lower value is better in a Sprint test, whereas a higher value is better in a 1RM Test.

  6. Some tests may provide additional options to calculate secondary metrics. For example, a sprint test will allow you to record the time, and calculate the velocity by providing a distance.

  7. Click Save

Test Measurements

Recording a measurement

To record results from your tests you have to create a new measurement.

To do that heads to the "Measurements" section of the module and click "New".

To enter the test results:

  1. Select the date the tests were conducted

  2. Select athletes that participated in the testing. To make things a little quicker, you can also search by group, which will add all athletes belonging to that group.

  3. Select the tests that were conducted

  4. If you need to remove an athlete, click the "x" next to their name in the table

  5. Fill in the matrix that is generated. Not all boxes need to be filled to continue - you can come back and fill out the rest at another time)

  6. Click Save to store your measurements

Update a measurement

To update or edit the results, navigate to the measurements section then click on UPDATE.

From here the measurement matrix will appear pre-filled with the previous results.

Change any values required, and then click save.

Delete a measurement

At the bottom-left corner of the measurements form will be a delete button. Clicking this will delete the test, the measurements you have recorded for the test, and any results that were calculated from these measurements.
