Getting Started

You may configure Morning Check-in Settings by visiting Admin > Settings > Morning Check-in via the sidebar.

Customising Notification Settings

By default, Lumin will send a reminder to all athletes who have not completed their Morning Check-in by 9am on weekdays. You can choose to disable notifications completely, or set which specific days and time to send notifications. If an athlete has completed their check-in before the time specified, they will not receive a notification. We highly recommend keeping notifications enabled, as we have measured a considerable impact on compliance when notifications are disabled.

Enabling Menstrual Cycle Questions

If enabled, an additional set of Menstrual Cycle questions will be presented to female athletes as a part of their Morning Check-in. The questions asked include:

  • Are you currently bleeding?

  • What date did you start bleeding?

  • Blood amount (None, Spotting, Light, Medium, Heavy)

  • What symptoms are you experiencing:

    • Headaches

    • Bloating

    • Fatigue

    • Lower-back pain

    • Abdominal cramps

    • Tender breasts

    • Diarrhoea

    • Insomnia

    • Nausea

    • Constipation

  • How severe are your symptoms? (Mild, Moderate, Severe)

  • Do you use any hormonal contraception?

Please note that even if the Menstrual Questions are enabled, they are completely optional. We recommend that you speak to your athletes so they understand how this data is being used if they have any concerns.

You will also need to select which roles can view Menstrual Data. If a group role, such as "Group Performance Manager" or "Group Medical Manager" is chosen, they will only have access to menstrual data submitted by athletes in the Groups that they manage.

Once this has been configured, the chosen roles will be able see Menstrual data for athletes on the Overview Dashboard.

Enabling Illness and Injury alerts

It's easy to keep Coaches and Doctors in the loop with athlete-reported injuries and illnesses. To begin, ensure Injury and/or Illness reporting is enabled. Then, select which roles you would like to receive alerts when an athlete reports a new injury or illness. If you select a group role, such as Group Medical Manager, they will only receive alerts from athletes belonging to groups that they are Group Medical Manager for.

Miscellaneous settings

Other questions that you can toggle include the Location question and the Comments question. Enabling the Location question will ask athletes a geographic location at the start of their Check-in, and will attempt to use GPS to get a rough location automatically. This can be useful for travelling/disparate teams. The comments question allows a free-text response that appears on the dashboard, when the Comments column is enabled.
